The summer passed me by<\/p>\n
And I know the reason why –<\/p>\n
Work, work, work.<\/p>\n

The leaves quietly fall from<\/p>\n
Our trees to the ground –<\/p>\n
They are purple and dry.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The colors and smells tell me<\/p>\n
I know – you should be be<\/p>\n
Doing something besides –<\/p>\n
Work, work, work.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A lawnmower and a child,<\/p>\n
Both picking up leaves.<\/p>\n
One for her mother the<\/p>\n
Other for what Mother Nature has done.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The ladybugs are thick<\/p>\n
Flying in the air-<\/p>\n
Slowly finding a home on my<\/p>\n
Home in the trees.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The dog has hardly time<\/p>\n
To shed anymore, her coat<\/p>\n
Will slowly thicken.<\/p>\n
She will enjoy the outdoors, so do I.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The summer has passed me by<\/p>\n
And the days are getting<\/p>\n
Shorter.<\/p>\n
Fall is in its first beautiful week.<\/p>\n
Work, work, work.<\/p>\n
